Circuit Breakers

Circuit Breakers

At Electricbase we stock a wide range of circuit breakers and circuit breaker accessories from industry leading manufacturers and suppliers such as Crabtree, Lewden, Wylex and Hager.
Our range includes circuit breaker accessories such as handle locking devices and busbars. The lock off devices are specifically designed to stop usage at any given time. These are ideal for usage in locations where there might be multiple workers and are a very effective way of maintaining the health and safety of your workers. Meanwhile, a busbar is designed to be installed within a power distribution board to connect isolation devices and circuit devices. A normal domestic busbar is easy to install as it plugs into the bottom of the device and is secured into place.
The range also include RCBO which standard for residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection. It monitors the electric currents to keep them running in a safe manner and will disconnect the circuit if it becomes unbalanced. These would usually be used where you need to protect against overload as well as short circuiting and earth leakage currents. At Electricbase we carry RCBO products from Wylex, Lewden, Hager and Crabtree.
Next we have MCB which stands for miniature circuit breaker. This component is isolating and installed in a supply board which is designed to trip the circuit automatically if a fault is found. This means that the power will be cut off so that damage is prevented. At Electricbase we carry MCB products from Crabtree, Hager, Lewden and Wylex.
Finally, we have RCD and RCCB. RCD means residual current device and is installed in a fuse box as a safety component type of breaker. It can also be called a consumer unit RCD and they are designed to help prevent electrical shocks and damage to the appliance when there is a fault with the power supply. They will automatically trip if there is a problem and cut the power. RCCB stands for residual current circuit breaker and these products act as the same component, but without offering the protection against overload.
Because of safety concerns it’s extremely important to choose the correct circuit breaker product for your project, please always contact a professional before purchasing.
