Fuses

Fuses are designed to provide overload protection to your circuit. The are normally used in a plug to help to prevent damage by interrupting any excessive current. This excessive current may be caused by short circuits, overloading, failure from the device or a mismatched load. It’s very important to choose the correct rating of fuse for your appliance to make sure protection is applied and reduce the risk of any electrical fires. Fuses have a metal wire or strip within them that melts when there is too much current flowing through. By doing this it stops the current from going any further, however once a fuse has blown the circuit will be open and must be required or replaced depending on the type.
There are thousands of different fuse design options on the market which feature specific voltage and current ratings, response times and breaking capacities. This means that you can find the perfect fuse for your end use.
At Electricbase we are proud to work with leading industry fuse manufacturers and suppliers such as Wylex and Lewden, this means that we are able to offer high-quality fuse products for extremely cost effective and competitive prices.
Our range of fuses includes the Lewden 100A Main Sw c/w 80+100A Fuse MSF100 and the Lewden 100A Sw Metal c/w 63 80+100A Fuse FS6380100.
For your other switch & fusegear needs we have a wide and varied range of changeover switches, fuse & combination switches, switch disconnectors & isolators and switchfuses.
Because of safety concerns it’s extremely important to choose the correct fuse product for your project, please always contact a professional before purchasing.
