MCB
An MCB is also known as a miniature circuit breaker. This is an isolated component which is usually installed within a supply board. It is specially designed to trip the circuit automatically if or when a fault is discovered or detected. This means that the supply of power is cut off to stop damage to the circuit, which is usually triggered by a short or an overload.
An MCB features a bimetallic strip that is within the unit bends and heats if a continuous overcurrent is in contact with it, this then triggers the switch and trips it. There are various types of MCB which are each suitable for various applications within a wide and varied range of amp ratings and trip curves which are available to suit most installation requirements. The types including MCB type b and MCB type c.
